The master's degree program in nursing at the University of St. Thomas is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

School of Social Work Policy & Program Documents
The University of St. Thomas BSW program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Our program has been accredited since March 2024, and the next review will take place in 2032. St. Thomas was previously part of a joint program with St. Catherine University that was accredited by CSWE from 1974-2019.
The joint social work program at St. Catherine's and St. Thomas received its first accreditation in 1975 from the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Since that time, the School of Social Work successfully obtained a reaffirmation of accreditation through 2019. After the dissolution of the joint program, the St. Thomas BA in Social Work and Master of Social Work programs earned independent accreditation in 2019.

The University of St. Thomas Doctor of Social Work (DSW) program has been accredited since it was established in 2014, by our regional accrediting body, The Higher Learning Commission, through the University of St Thomas.
The University of St. Thomas DSW program is in candidacy for accreditation through the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) via the Temporary Expedited Alternative Pathway for established DSW programs. Students will graduate from an accredited program.
At this time, doctoral programs both DSW and PhD programs are not accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). However, in June of 2020 CSWE approved accreditation standards for practice doctorates. For further information about the piloting of the accreditation process, please review the CSWE website.
