    No GRE required. No prerequisite courses required.

    You will be asked to provide the following information regarding your education/academic history:

    • U.S. baccalaureate degree (or international equivalent) from a regionally accredited institution of higher education is required
    • List of all associate, undergraduate, and graduate degree institutions attended whether degree was completed or not at that institution
    • Official transcript for each institution where a course was completed
    • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 is preferred

    Employment Information

    The application will ask for your current or most recent employer.

    You can only enter one employer, but your entire employment history will be reviewed using your resume.

    Current Resume or CV

    Provide an up-to-date resume or CV showcasing your academic and professional achievements and experiences.

    Please differentiate between paid work experience and volunteer activities. Indicate whether the experience/activity was part-time or full-time in nature, and specify the dates of employment/volunteering.

    You will be asked to upload this as a PDF (preferred) or Word document in the application portal.

    Two Letters of Recommendation

    Two letters of recommendation from academic and/or professional references are required. Each letter should state the nature of the relationship and length of time knowing the applicant. In addition, each letter should discuss the applicant's abilities/experiences related to at least two of the following areas:

    • Demonstrated initiative and/or commitment to public health, whole person health, and/or health equity
    • Interpersonal and/or organizational communication
    • Leadership skills and abilities
    • Significant strengths that support applicant's ability to excel in a public health career or program

    Once the recommendation section of the application has been completed, a link will be sent to your references. Please alert your references in advance to expect an email. These are confidential recommendations submitted directly from the references to the Office of Graduate Admissions; applicants who wish to view the recommendations are responsible for making the appropriate arrangements with their references.

    Statement of Purpose

    Respond to the prompts below in 1,000 words or less.

    • Introduce yourself and why you're pursuing graduate study in this field.
    • Reflect on your personal qualities (e.g. leadership, critical thinking, overcoming challenges, perserverance, etc.) and how they will help you succeed.
    • Explain how your academic and professional background have prepared you for studying public health at the graduate level.
    • How do you see your education in the Morrison Family College of Health advancing your career or skillset to address health challenges and inequities, and promote health at various levels (individual, community, systems)?

    You will be asked to upload your statement of purpose as either a PDF or Word document in the application portal.

    Estimated Tuition and Fees for 2026-27 Academic Year

    NOTE: We are currently accepting applications for the start of the program in Fall 2026. Actual program costs will be available in March/April 2026. These ESTIMATED costs are based on similar programs and may change.

    Estimated Costs for the St. Thomas Master of Public Health

    Tuition:

    $850 per credit; 42 total credits for program completion

    Technology Fee:

    Graduate students who take six or more credits will be assessed a $135 technology fee each term.

    Health Fee:

    Graduate students who take six or more credits will be assessed an $82 health fee each term.

    Student Support Services Fee:

    $15 per semester

    Tommie Alumni Scholarship

    The Tommie Alumni Scholarship is equivalent to a 15% tuition discount. This scholarship is intended for alumni who have received either an undergraduate or graduate degree, from any discipline, from the University of St. Thomas. In order to be considered for this scholarship you must have graduated from St. Thomas prior to your desired start term in the MPH program, as indicated in your MPH Application.
