About the Whole Person Health Initiative
The Morrison Family College of Health, founded in 2019, established whole person care as a guiding principle, recognizing that physical, mental, social, and spiritual wellbeing are interconnected, essential components of our overall health. This belief shapes how the college educates current and future health professionals to provide care that is effective, culturally responsive, and person centered.
In 2022, the George Family Foundation made a generous multi-year investment to launch the George Family Whole Person Health Initiative (WPHI). The Initiative accelerates our work to advance health equity through whole person care across three key strategies:
This work is helping to shape a future where whole person care that is culturally responsive, person-centered, holistic, and prevention-focused care is the standard, not the exception.
Our two advisory groups of local and national thought leaders provide insight and expertise, helping us anticipate emerging trends, identify workforce training gaps, and deepen our work to build long-lasting community-academic partnerships.

Developed collaboratively with faculty, staff, and community advisors, whole person care is a framework for new student learning opportunities as well as trainings and events for health professionals and community members.
